Twelve Market Rasen women who have all survived breast cancer have now come forward to feature in a charity calendar and now they need your support.
As reported in the Rasen Mail, June True is creating the inspirational calendar following her own battle with the disease to spread the message that breast cancer can be beaten if people look for the signs and get an early diagnosis.
June, 50, who lives in Walesby Road, has now been joined by Judi Quinn, Jackie Smith, Jenny Green, Eleanor Sanders, Mandy Williams, Donna Weber, Debbie Quinn, Jean Everton and Marlene Mitchell, all pictured, as well as Dawn Weller and Caron Hunt.
And the ladies are now looking for local companies to come forward and sponsor the calendar pages.
June said: “It is a big thing for the ladies to do but it is a great opportunity to make a difference and we need local companies support.
“Ladies can still come forward if they wish to feature in the calendar because I know there are more people out there who have beaten this disease.”
June was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was 47 having gone to the doctor.
She said: “I went to get checked out. The doctor said I didn’t have any visible lump but told me to have a mammogram.
“ My lump was at the bottom of the boob inside, so I would never have felt it.”
