West Lindsey residents will see their garden waste collections resume, starting from Monday, March 31.
“Because of the reduced demand for this service during the winter, temporarily suspending the service means we are saving on fuel being used to collect relatively small amounts of garden waste and reducing our carbon emissions and this saves more than £150,000 for West Lindsey council tax payers,” said a council spokesman.
Even though garden waste was not collected during the winter period, the authority’s recycling rate still reached 54 percent for 2012/13, one of the best in the country!
Emptying your first garden waste bin remains a free service, but extra bins are available for an annual charge.
Call the council’s customer service team on 01427 676676 to order an additional bin.
