Friends and relatives of Laura Thompson, the 21-year-old woman who died in Louth two weeks ago, have raised almost £2500 towards the cost of the funeral, which takes place in Scunthorpe on Friday afternoon.
A fundraising day that took place in Binbrook yesterday afternoon (Saturday March 22), in addition to donations from friends and local businesses, raised £2,488.92 in total.
Laura’s friend Richard Tresler, who organised the fun day, said today: “I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the fund raising for the funeral. There are to many to name them all.
“Everyone one of you that donated and helped in any way should be really proud of yourselves.
“Our target last week was to raise £2450. After last nights fundraiser and money from CK Polymers, The Plough in Binbrook and Jo’s work friends we have now raised £2488.92 so we have reached the target. Thank you all so much.”
