Fatal accident closes A46 at Welton Hill - update

Friday 1pm ONE person has been killed in an accident this morning on the A46 between Market Rasen and Lincoln.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision which occurred just before 6.45am on the A46 at Welton Hill.

A green Volvo estate car and a blue Citroen car were involved. The male driver of the Citroen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police would like to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A46 around this time and witnessed these vehicles.

The Volvo was travelling in the direction of Lincoln, and the Citroen is believed to have been travelling towards Market Rasen.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Collision Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.

The road will be closed for some time and Highways have arranged diversions.
