‘Digital champions’ are being sought by West Lindsey District Council to help teach people how to use technology.
The council has been installing computers and improving internet provision across the district and needs ‘digital champions’ to help people make the most of it.
Volunteers could run computer drop-in sessions or offer one-to-one training in village halls, or develop a digital hub.
They can receive free training but need not be computer experts.
“Being a digital champion is more about being friendly and being able to talk about the internet in a simple way to someone who is unfamiliar with the technology, giving them the confidence to try it for themselves,” said Coun Anne Welburn, Deputy leader of West Lindsey District Council.
The project is being funded by a £160,000 European Social Fund grant. To take part, contact Frances Roddis, European Social Fund Project Co-ordinator on (01427) 676513 or email email@example.com.
