Churches get together for Queen’s 60 years

ALL is in place for Brigg’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations over the coming bank holiday weekend. Events start on Sunday as Brigg Churches Together hold a Diamond Jubilee service in Brigg Methodist Church starting at 3.30pm.

All are welcome to attend.

On Monday the programme starts with a picnic in the Market Place from 11am-1pm, to which everyone is invited to take part.

A fancy dress parade takes place during the picnic for which there is entry available on the day.

A parade follows from Bridge Street, through the town centre and into Grammar School Road before making its way to the Recreation Ground.

There will be fun events and displays at the Recreation Ground from 1pm-4.30pm.

Entry to all events on the day is free.

A competition has been held to find a Diamond Jubilee Queen to ride at the head of the parade just as the Queen did at her coronation.

All will be revealed when the procession gets under way.
