Young chess players from Osgodby School have been in action again, this time at the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge Megafinal, held at Fosse Way Academy, Lincoln.
Following on from the seven in school matches played with 77 children before Easter, 16 pupils gained a place at the Megafinal, with seven children able to get to the event with the help of their parents and friends.
And taking part were Toby Green, James Peatfield, Rosanna Carr, Harry Moore, Dillan Green, Ruby Hill and Thomas Roke.
Ruby won the U8 Suprema title and a place through to the Gigafinal in Manchester on Saturday, July 5.
And she will be joined by James Peatfield, Harry Moore and Dillan Green, who also won places through to the Gigafinal in July.
“Everyone tried their best, with every player winning at least one match,” said headteacher Jill Fincham.
“We are very proud of all our pupils for what they continue to achieve.”
More than 100 children from across Lincolnshire took part in the competition.
And 38 of those players qualified for the Gigafinal stage by either being top of their section or scoring at least 4/6.
