Camp site plans back on the table
Plans to develop the Pingley Camp site have been submitted once more to planners.
John Derbyshire of ‘John Derbyshire Design Partnership Ltd’ gave a presentation of the revised plans for the former prisoner of war camp to Brigg Town Council.
Plans for the site off Bigby Road are now for the building of ten homes at the rear of the site and twenty ‘workings’ at the front.
There is no provision for social housing on the site.
The layout is the same as the original design but John Derbyshire said the site had been in stagnation since work stopped three years ago because the original developer had gone into receivership.
Town Councillors were keen a section 106 agreement is put in place which would enable money to be available for the enhancement of facilities in Brigg.
Councillors were concerned at the state of the footpath on the south side of the road approach, where the surface is cracked and broken, and also about flooding in the area but Mr Derbyshire said plans were now in place for pumping out water in an emergency.
