Talented Abi to support 70s music legends 10cc

MARKET Rasen singer/songwriter and music workshop leader, Abi Moore, has lined up one of the biggest gigs of her career - supporting top band 10CC for two nights next week.

Abi, who has lived in Lincolnshire for nearly 20 years, has independently carved out a successful music career for herself without the aid of a manager, record label or distribution deal.

She started eight years ago at the age of 17, performing cover material on the pub and club circuit three nights a week whilst also studying for her A Levels and, after leaving school, dedicated herself to music.

Performances at the London Palladium and Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium followed, with Abi entertaining audiences of up to 10,000 people, but in 2003 she began to concentrate on writing, recording and performing her own material in smaller, more intimate venues.

Now she is supporting the famous 70s band at Milton Keynes’ prestigious The Stables on July 8 and 9.

She describes her songs as ‘heartfelt, honest and engaging’ and her acoustic blend of folk, rock and jazz attracts regular crowds.

Abi has already shared stages with Amy Winehouse and James Morrisson at BBC 6 Music's Summer Sundae and supported many big names in the folk and acoustic world including Midge Ure, Jim Moray, LAU, Jonatha Brooke, Edwina Hayes and the Coal Porters.

“I am looking forward to putting on a great performance for 10CC,” she said.

Abi's 40 minute set starts at 8pm. Tickets 32.50 on 01908 280800. Local gig details at www.abimoore.com or keep an eye on the Mail and its website www.marketrasenmail.co.uk
