Half-way there for cycle family!

On Sunday, Andrew Dalrymple, President of Market Rasen Rotary and fellow Rotarian, David Herring met up with Martin Smith and his support team on his way from Lands End to John O'Groats.

They met him in the Liverpool area to give him moral support and wish him well with the second half of his venture.

In spite of rain on every day since he set off from Lands End on Monday August 11th Martin has covered more than 80 miles a day with 112 miles on one of them.

He expects to arrive on schedule in John O'Groats on August 25th after covering 977 miles. His supporters, Rev. Charles Patrick, mum Linda along with sister Claire and university friend Andrew Godwin are taking it in turns to cycle with him.

Martin will soon be calling on his sponsors for their contributions to the two charities for which he is collecting: Asthma UK and the Rotary Club's polio eradication charity.
