BBC star from Rasen returns to her roots
Wednesday 9am FORMER Market Rasen woman Sarah Charlton will be teaching traditional wood craft skills to visitors at Chambers Farm Wood next month.
The 34 year-old single mum is a final year degree student in contemporary design at Lincoln University and one of the stars of the BBC TV series 'Mastercrafts'.
She spent six weeks in Dorset learning age old crafts like wood turning from experts and now she's back on home turf to share her skills and teach people the art of whittling, making walking sticks, wizard wands, hooks, and plant markers in the old fashioned way.
"I've always been very artistic and love walking through Chambers to gain inspiration," she said.
"The experience I had on the BBC programme was fantastic and I think it will spark a lot of interest in traditional skills."
Sarah's workshop takes place on March 13 from 10am to 1pm. This will be repeated on April 3 and 18 and October 16. The cost is 5 and booking is essential on 01526 399943. For more information visit www.forestry.gov.uk/eastmidlands
