Are you a Model in the making
Thursday, 4.30pm: DO YOU fancy yourself as a Kate Moss or a Naomi Campbell, strutting your stuff on the catwalk.
The University of Lincoln's fashion degree students have secured the services of a top international model who has worked for Jean Paul Gaultier to take to the runway for the Lincoln fashion show.
Charlie Weaving, a regular on the covers of glossy fashion and lifestyle magazines, will be modelling designs by final year BA (Hons) Fashion Studies students in a series of shows, entitled Debut, on Friday May 23 at the Engine Shed.
He is "delighted" to support the University and its students, sharing his knowledge and experience of the fashion industry.
And you too can join in. The organisers are looking for local people to model in the show. If you are female, 5ft 9" or more in height, and would like to get involved visit: www.lincoln.ac.uk/fashionshow for more details.
The University's students have drawn on a diverse range of inspiration for their collections, which are the culmination of their course.
One student has already been selected to show her work at the final of a national fashion design competition in London this week and others will be hoping that they will be spotted by industry representatives and employers who will be mingling with the public as guests at the event.
Principal Lecturer in Fashion Carol Brown, said: "This year's show promises a fantastic display of students' collections. They have worked incredibly hard on their designs and their creativity and standard of work involved is tremendous. This is the first year we've hosted the show at the Engine Shed and I'm sure that the fabulous venue will add to the professional feel of the event.
"Having a top model prepared to come and work with us shows how seriously our work here is taken by people in the industry, and we are also being supported by fashion designer Antonio Berardi, who is an Honorary Graduate of the University."
Tickets are available for all of the three shows taking place: at noon for 3; 3.30pm - 4; 7.30pm - 5per ticket from the Events Office on 01522 837008 or email: fashion@lincoln.ac.uk
