Lincolnshire Police have launched a murder investigation after the death of a 79-year-old woman from Dunholme.
Police were called at around 2pm on Sunday September 22 by hospital staff who had concerns for the woman who had been taken to hospital from her home address in Merleswyn, Dunholme, at around 11am that morning.
The woman later died in hospital at around 10am on October 24.
Officers carried out initial enquiries and a murder investigation was launched yesterday (Wednesday).
Yesterday evening a 51-year-old man was arrested in the West Yorkshire area.
He is currently helping police with their enquiries.
DCI Martin Holvey said: “I can confirm that a murder investigation has been launched and I would urge anyone with any information that they think might help us to get in touch as soon as possible.
“We are not seeking any other suspects in relation to this investigation and there is no threat to the community. I would urge any local residents with any concerns to discuss them with our local officers in the village.”
