A Caistor couple are getting their running shoes on to tackle two top marathons this spring and raise money for charity.
Keith and Linda Tyler are busy training hard and hopeful of achieving their targets.
And for Linda, her marathon date in London coincides with her 61st birthday.
This will be her 12th London Marathon on the trot, and 24th marathon overall in her short running career.
“I ran my first ever marathon at London in 2003, which happened to coincide with my 50th birthday,” said Linda.
Now, for the second time since then, the London Marathon date falls exactly on her special day.
Since then, Linda has run other international marathons - New York, Paris, Berlin, Venice, Dublin and Orlando.
“I am aiming to get inside five hours, with my personal best time being four hours and 52 minutes,” she added.
As for her 67-year-old husband Keith, he will be supporting Linda from the spectators’ side of the barriers, as he will have already run his marathon a week beforehand.
Keith will be running in the Paris Marathon on April 6, tackling his 36th full marathon.
He will be hoping to get inside four and a half hours.
“Getting fit enough for such a challenge will be hard for me,” said Keith.
“I have been out of running for nine months following troublesome back and chest injuries.”
Both Linda and Keith are well known locally for their running prowess and charitable giving.
And in 2012, Keith had the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch through Wrawby.
This year, the intrepid pair will again be running in support of the Prostate Cancer UK charity.
