It was high fives all round at the Click’Em Inn as the pub won the Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire CAMRA Country Pub of the Year for the fifth year running.
Since taking over the Swinhope pub in 1987, the Winfield family have won the prestigious award 11 times.
Run by father and son team, Terry senior and Terry junior, they put their success down to good management of their real ales.
Terry jnr said: “We’ve won it now for the last five years and for that we’d like to thank CAMRA.
“If it was not for CAMRA the real ale would not have the profile it does today.”
CAMRA, the Campaign For Real Ale, has branches throughout the UK, which aim to promote pubs and breweries that offer good quality real ale and traditional British pub hospitality.
Each year members of CAMRA vote for which pub is the best in their area.
Dawn Nielsen, chairman of Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire CAMRA, said its members looked for quality and variety when giving awards.
She added: “It has to be the real ale, it has to be kept well, it has to taste good and there has to be a decent variety.”
