A Market Rasen woman has taken on a 12-hour cyclethon to raise money to help her volunteer overseas.
Esther Freeman is one of a group of charity workers travelling to India this summer.
While there, the 20-year-old will spend a month teaching in a school and also work to renovate it, which includes building and redecorating.
And they will also be living with an Indian family to make the visit even more authentic.
“I did World Challenge while I was at De Aston and really enjoyed helping and making a difference,” said Esther, who is now studying geography at Sheffield Hallam.
“It made me want to do more and the project will also help me with my dissertation, but seeing the difference I can make is the major thing.”
But before then, Esther has to raise more than £2,000 for her charity work.
And, thanks to Market Rasen’s Tesco store and Everyone Active Gym who supplied the bike, Esther was able to take on her sponsored cyclethon and raise £388.90.
“I would like to thank all the generous customers for their support.”
