100 laps for Comic Relief

Isobel Jones and Claire Patrick ran 100 laps around Dovecote in Middle Rasen to raise money for Comic Relief.

Both girls were moved after watching the BBC drama Mary and Martha, which told about two ladies who raised money to help save the lives of children in Africa from malaria.

Isobel decided she wanted to run lots of laps for Comic Relief and Claire suggested they specifically raise the money so it could be used to purchase mosquito nets to be given to children in Africa.

Each net costs around £6 and as the girls raised almost £300 they are happy to realise they will be able to potentially save 50 lives.

It took just over three hours for Isobel and Claire to complete their ‘marathon’ run and anyone who would like to sponsor the girls retrospectively is asked to please contact the Rev Charles Patrick on 01673 842249.
