Eight students from Brigg’s Sir John Nelthorpe School are out and about urging the community to back them for an expedition to the Himalayan foothills of India in 2014.

They have to each raise £3,500 before they can set foot on that plane to Delhi fifteen months from now. Two of the students planning for the trip are 14-year-olds Jessica Hill and Eleanor Bryan. “We shall trek to two rural villages where life is below the poverty line and we hope we will be involved in renovating a school,” said Eleanor.

Taking part in an expedition of this nature is a huge test of the mental strength of the group members; the team are their family for four weeks
