Where were gritters when we needed them?
EDITOR – With regard to the incomprehensible state of our roads, during the recent bad weather, I feel the need to vent my feelings.
As one of many staff at Louth County Hospital, I was astounded by the incompetence yet again of our council.
As public sector workers, it is our duty to attend work 24/7, whatever mother nature may throw our way.
On Saturday morning, staff were arriving on duty horrified by the conditions, not just on smaller B roads,(which is understandable), but the A roads were absolutely atrocious.
It begs the question, where are the gritters to keep us all safe when we have no option but to travel the roads? What do all our taxes pay for?
