Give our station decent facilities
EDITOR – Over a year ago I contacted one of our town councillors regarding the lack of disabled toilet facilities at the station.
He gave me a lot of reasons why we can’t even have a mobile cabin, and it looks as though there are no plans to take the request further.
This means I can’t use the railway, and since the bus is also unsuitable I’m not able to travel beyond the town.
The station must be well over 100 years old and initially had proper heated waiting rooms.
It’s high time the powers-that-be updated the station and provided decent civilised facilities.
