A NEW reporter has joined the team at the Market Rasen Mail.
Originally from Newcastle, Leanne Fender, 25, has just moved to our area for her new job as the Rasen Mail’s senior reporter.
Leanne, who was a reporter in South Wales for two years and then in South London for almost one year, is looking forward to finding out everything there is to know about Market Rasen and the surrounding areas.
She said: “I can’t wait to get to know the people in our towns and villages and become part of the community.
“Lincolnshire is a beautiful part of the world and a brilliant place to be a journalist.”
Leanne decided she wanted to become a reporter while studying for her A-levels and went on to do a journalism degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
During this time, she wrote for several student publications and helped out at a nearby local newspaper whenever she could get the chance.
After graduating she went travelling and gained some work experience on two newspapers in Sydney, Australia.
She said: “I’m thrilled to be working for the Market Rasen Mail – it is a great local paper and really is part of the community.”
Leanne will be working alongside the editor Paul Fisher and reporter Dianne Tuckett to bring you all the news you need from Market Rasen, Caistor, Brigg and the surrounding villages.
