A FATHER and daughter have teamed up to give extra support to a vital life-saving charity.

Kevin and Jodie Troop are the latest first responders to join LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Services) – a charity which works with the ambulance service and is often first on the scene at emergencies in rural locations.

Farm manager Kevin and nursery assistant Jodie will be covering Hainton, Benniworth, Donnington on Bain, Burgh on Bain and South Willingham. And, during the day, Kevin will cover Faldingworth, Toft next Newton and Newtoft.

Fifty-year-old Kevin, from Hainton, said: “We’re doing this because we want to give something back to the community – there’s no other reason.

“With Lincolnshire being such a rural community it’s always going to take longer for ambulances to arrive and we want to help save lives.”

But the charity – which relies entirely on donations – still has a shortage of volunteers in Faldingworth, Wickenby and Toft Newton.

Jodie, 24, said: “It’s nice to know you’re doing something to help – and anyone can do it.”
