A FUNDRAISING hat-trick has seen just under £13,000 being raised for Cancer Research UK.

Over the past three years, Julie Picksley has organised a charity ball in aid of her father Ernie Mumby.

And this year’s event at Caenby Corner’s White Heather was another success, raising £3,500.

The evening began with bucks fizz and then a three-course meal, before dancing to live music from Eat at Joe’s and then a disco.

The money raised was boosted by a raffle and a mini-auction.

Now, after three years of fundraising, Julie has decided to finish on a high.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support, both this year and in previous years, by coming along to the events and also for the many kind donations of raffle prizes and auction items” she said.

“I’m not saying never again, but I am going to give it a rest for the moment.”
