TWO of the area’s up and coming young athletes have been shortlisted for this year’s Lincolnshire Sports Awards.
Jamie Carter from Binbrook and Aaron Hoodless from West Barkwith have both been nominated for the impressive sporting year they have had.
Wheelchair racer and basketball player Jamie has gone from strength to strength in the last 12 months.
He has broken his personal best times on countless occasions, as well as breaking a number of national records. He is now the British record holder in the 200 and 800 metres for his classification.
Having previously won awards in Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire, Jamie is delighted to have been nominated for Young Disabled Sportsperson of the year in his home county.
Volleyball player Aaron trains one day a week in Loughborough and travels all over the country for games on Sundays, playing in the Regional National League.
“I am really pleased to have been nominated for the award by my coach and my parents,” he said, “I am really looking forward to the awards night.”
The awards ceremony will be held at The Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Showground on November 17.
