It’s play time at Swallow

CHILDREN in the village of Swallow now have a new play area, thanks to a small committee, with relentless enthusiasm.

Grants for the refurbishment have been received from Lincolnshire County Council, WREN, Lincolnshire Playing Fields, Swallow Parish Council and Local Community Funding (49 Club), enabling a range of new equipment, which is proving very popular with both the younger and older children.

Further funding from West Lindsey District Council Initiative Fund and Joseph Nickerson Foundation Trust has provided two picnic tables and a three-seater bench for the park and it is hoped villagers, visitors, walkers and cyclists will enjoy the sunny positioning of the seating.

There was a large turn-out of villagers when the play park was officially opened by County Councillor Tony Turner MBE, and attended by Michael Kennedy from WREN, District Councillors Angela Lawrence and Alan Caine, Parish Council Chairman James Walgate and Chairman of Swallow Parish Plan Brian Gould.
