Irene’s TV show’s aiding local businesses

A TEALBY businesswoman admits she has felt like a celebrity since appearing in a Channel 4 series.

Irene Ward Kendall took part in Four in a Bed, which sees B&B owners throw open
their doors and take turns to stay with one another – and pay what they consider fair for their stay.

“I would like to thank all the Market Rasen Mail readers after watching my goings-on in Four in a Bed,” said Irene.

“Everywhere I go I am recognised – thank you for all your wonderful comments.”

And Irene says her appearance on the show has not only boosted her own business, but her extra bookings are also using local eateries and other attractions.

“I’m also buying much more local produce and have employed two students for the summer – so a feel good factor all round,” added Irene.

If you want to hear the whole story, go along to Tealby Village Hall on Wednesday, August 29 for ‘An Audience with Irene’ at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £5, with proceeds to charity.

There will also be a Grand Afternoon Tea on Sunday, September 9, at 3.30pm, including those now famous scones, with tickets £8.50.

Tickets for both events from Tealby Shop, 01673 838714 or Irene on 01673 838226.
