FIREFIGHTERS have been getting in a lather cars to raise money for charity.

The crews were busy all day on Saturday washing people’s cars at Tesco in Market Rasen and at Caistor Fire Station in return for a donation to The Fire Fighters Charity.

The charity provides support and therapy to injured firefighters and their families.

The weather was perfect and the generous residents were keen to get their cars washed to save them the job of doing so.

The event was part of National Car Wash 2012, the charity’s largest fundraising event of the year.

Firefighters across the UK were involved and cleaning vehicles for whatever money people could spare.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue has had a successful track record running the event, raising more than £6,500 last year.
