MARKET Rasen will be buzzing as a number of events come together this Saturday.

The Open Gardens and Summer Market event will see a range stalls, selling a wide variety of goods, set up in the market place, as well as the opportunity to take a look behind the garden gate across the town.

Herbs, plants, fragrances, garden and farm produce, cakes and outdoor furniture will all be on sale throughout the day and members of Market Rasen Lions Club will be on hand to help you take your purchases back to your car.

In the nearby St Thomas’s Church there will be the chance to see some of its hidden treasures, including silver dating back to the 1600s and church documents, all usually kept off the premises in a safe.

A short walk to the Festival Hall will bring visitors to the Market Rasen Flower Design Show.

Open from 12 noon-5pm, this biennial showpiece event for floral art lovers is something not to be missed.

Across the town, eight gardens will be open to browse around from 10am-4pm. Entry is by sticker, costing £3, available from the open gardens stall in the market place or at any of the gardens.

And don’t forget, for the children there is an odd one out shop window competition.

Call at the open gardens stall for an entry form, between 9am and 2pm, and return your completed entry by 4pm to be in with a chance of winning the £30 prize money.

The Open Gardens and Summer Market event has been organised by a working party of volunteers in association with Market Rasen Town Council and supported by Market Rasen Rotary Club.
