WITH the colder weather fast approaching, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) are urging people to come forward to help save lives.
During winter, many people stay at home and others are unable to donate due to seasonal coughs and colds.
Holly Mason, lead donor relations manager for NHSBT, said: “We need to collect thousands of units of blood every day to provide patients in hospitals across the country with lifesaving transfusions.
“At this time of year blood stocks tend to dip because people are unable to give blood, so it’s important that people come forward to donate if they can do.”
