Limber up for the Lindsey race series and take to the streets

DON’T forget to register now for your chance to take part in the first ever West Lindsey Run Series.

Three brand new races have been mapped out across the district to entice experienced and new runners to take part.

The running series comprises of two 5km runs, one in Gainsborough and one in Saxilby and a special Remembrance Sunday 10km in Market Rasen.

Chairman of the prosperous communities committee, coun Malcolm Parish is urging as many people as possible to participate.

He said: “West Lindsey District Council and TSS events have organised this exciting new running series.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages and abilities to take part. You do not have to be a serious athlete to enjoy the event – you can walk, jog or run the race.

“Don’t forget there will be medals and goody bags for all competitors. For people who enter and complete all three races, they will receive a commemorative T-shirt for the 1st year of the West Lindsey Run Series.”

The races include: Saxilby 5km run: Sunday, September 25 – 11am

Gainsborough 5km run: Sunday, October 23 – 10am

Market Rasen Remembrance Sunday 10 run (multi-terrain): Sunday, November 13 – 12.30pm.

The Market Rasen event will help raise money for Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion.

All the events will include junior races.

People can participate in all three events or select just one event. Team entries from athletics clubs, companies and groups will be available.

There will be an overall male/female and team trophy winners for the run series. This will be calculated through finishing positions of the three races.

Cash prizes for each race including trophies for open and age categories.

Entry fees are £8 per race (non UKA affiliated) £6 (UKA affiliated).

Or all three races for £20 (non UKA affiliated) £18 (UKA affiliated).
