Tea and talk was the theme for people attending the World Mental Health Day in the former Arena Cafe in Market Rasen.
The day was hailed as a great success, with a number of people enjoying the free refreshments, whilst also collecting information on mental health projects in the area - Inspire! at The Hub, Healthy Minds and Enterprising Minds at CLIP, as well as Dementia.
“We are extremely happy with the response to the Day,” said event organiser Ray Mason.
“It’s all about getting information to people about mental health issues and starting to break down the stigma associated with mental illness.”
Ray added the venue will be reopened as Cafe CLIP in the near future.
“We hope it will act as a focal point for community groups, provide information, advice and guidance and above all else have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with reasonably priced tea, coffee and cake.”
And one of the mental health support groups already using the cafe is Healthy Minds.
“It is an informal and friendly group, led by the people who come here,” said Clive Culverhouse.
“There are craft, quizzes and games, as well as support when needed.”
The Healthy Mind drop-in sessions are held every Wednesday morning from 9.30am to 11.30am.
