Caistor resident and former smoker Terry Cordrey has donated £400 to the Coronary Care unit at Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

Terry was rushed to the hospital with heart problems last summer and was eventually transferred to Castle Hill Hospital, Yorkshire for a heart by-pass operation.

“The care given to me by all the CCU staff was absolutely faultless,” he said.

“I used to smoke cigars but gave them up for good the moment I stepped into that ambulance.

“This donation represents the money that I saved on cigars during the four weeks I was there.”
