Exercise classes aimed at the over 60s will begin in Middle Rasen later this month.

Vitality is a Lincolnshire-based programme of exercise and movement which operates classes across the county, already operating classes in Horncastle and launching classes in Louth on Thursday August 28, the same day as in Middle Rasen.

Emma Batty, who heads up the Vitality Project in Lincolnshire, says the classes are aimed for both men and women and incorporate physiotherapy-based movements into seated and standing exercises set to music.

The exercises aim to improve flexibility, strength, coordination, posture and general well-being in a friendly group environment.

“Vitality is more than just exercise. The weekly classes are a great way to meet new people, build confidence, have fun and most importantly, have a chat during the tea and coffee break,” she said.

Vitality is supported by Lincolnshire County Council and West Lindsey District Council and is NHS approved.

Classes cost £3, which includes refreshments and the first class is free. The first class in Middle Rasen runs from 11am-12noon at Middle Rasen Village Hall, Wilkinson Drive on Thursday August 28.
