Concerns over adult care spending cuts

AN ELDERLY woman who is wheelchair bound fears government spending cuts will leave her unable to survive.

The 80-year-old arthritis sufferer from Caistor, who does not want to be named, relies on carers three times a day to help her get up and dressed in the morning, have lunch and go to bed in the evening.

But she fears a £2 million cut to spending on adult social care services across Lincolnshire will leave her facing problems.

She said: “I’m worried about who’s going to help me. I certainly couldn’t survive without the help I get at the moment - and there’s a lot of people worse off then me.”

The cuts will affect 3,000 people throughout the county over the next two-years.
