Brigg Lives 1st Responders have installed emergency life saving equipment in the doorway of The Angel Suite in the town’s Market Place.

The equipment can be opened and used by any member of the public in case of need in an emergency and comprises a lifepack defibrillator and emergency kit.

“Any individual can use it,” said Chris Darlington of Brigg Lives.

“There are instructions, but also the ambulance control centre can instruct a person through their mobile and talk them through dealing with the emergency.”

The equipment has been provided by the family of the late John Lawton of Westrum Lane, who died suddenly in 2010.

While serving as Brigg Rotary President, Mr Lawton played a role in setting up the 1st Responders.

“We are very grateful to the Lawton family for this
donation,” added Mr Darlington.

Brigg Lives are in need of more responders and any new volunteers can go to their web site via brigglivesfirstresponders or at the regional headquarters on 01507 525999.
