JAMIE ‘Afro’ Archer has revealed a return trip and is the latest star to join the first great ‘Rasen Rocks’ summer concert at Market Rasen Racecourse.

Having wowed the crowds at the racecourse last August Jamie and his band will again be performing after the races along with the evening’s headline performer, Aiden Grimshaw as well as Paije Richardson, on Saturday July 3

Pip Kirkby, the racecourse’s managing director, said: “We are thrilled that Jamie Archer will be joining Aiden and Paije for our post-racing concert on 3 July.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day for all our visitors, and the stars are a superb addition to our sporting entertainments.”

Jamie Archer is nicknamed ‘Afro’ after his impressive head of hair and X Factor viewers will recall how he impressed all four judges with his energetic rendition of the King’s of Leon’s hit song Sex on Fire in the first round of auditions on the hit ITV show.

He has now built up a large following of fans and is preparing to release an album.

His performance alongside Aiden and Paije on Sunday July 3 is the first of two Rasen Rocks concerts at Market Rasen Racecourse.

The second is a live concert by pop sensation Peter Andre on Saturday August

Tickets for the big day are already on sale and, judging by the attendance last summer, they will be in great demand.

Adult tickets start at £15; tickets for children aged between 5 and 17 years and who are accompanied by an adult are just £6 each.

Racing on July 3 is between 2.20pm and 5.20pm. Gates will open two hours before the first race. The concert will start shortly after the final horse race and is expected to last for approximately one hour.

Tickets for the event can be bought online at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk, by telephone on 08445 793009 or at the racecourse in person.
