TOWN residents can pick up some free compost at the Mayor’s Fair in the town hall car park this Saturday.
The recycled material compost, courtesy of Clarkeson Recycling at Riby and Oaklands Garden Centre Laceby, comes from green waste, some of which is delivered into the site by West Lindsey Recycling team.
The compost is useful for pots, containers and the garden in general, so take along a sack or container and take some home with you. Bags will be available if you don’t have anything suitable.
Caistor in Bloom will also be at the fair with a raffle, plant sale and digital photography competition, as well as a prize draw to win an array of plants generously donated from Waltham Herbs.
The draw will take place at the Caistor Show at Caistor Equestrian Centre on Sunday, May 1.
The group is also looking for horticultural photographs for its calendar so any entries will be welcome and there will be prizes for the 12 chosen to represent Caistor on the calendar.
