A BAKE-off to raise money for a little girl who died after having an asthma attack is being held in Market Rasen.

Ten-year-old Gemma Weaver from Newtoft died in March last year after having an asthma attack in the early hours of the morning.

Dad Tony Brown – and his wife Vix – have since set up Gemma’s Memorial Fund to raise money for Asthma UK and will be holding a fundraising bake-off and craft fair at Festival Hall on Saturday, April 14 from 2pm to 6pm.

Tony said asthma kills three people every day in the UK and he wants to raise money to help find a cure for the disease.

Tony said: “We’re looking for as many people as possible to enter their cakes into the competition – it’s open to adults and children.”

Judges – who have yet to be confirmed – will select winners adult and children’s categories.

If you would like to take part in the competition, call Tony before April 10 on 08454 676125 or e-mail gemmasmemorialfund@gmail.com.

Entry costs £5 for adults and £1 for children. A stall at the craft fair costs £10.
