LAUGHTER filled the Festival Hall on Saturday night as a capacity audience turned out to hear best-selling author Gervase Phinn.
A born raconteur, Gervase entertained the crowd with tales of his time as a teacher and Ofsted inspector.
And generous Gervase gave his time freely to help raise funds for the Catholic church in the Rasen area – which amounted to more than £3,000.
Organisers Sarah Lamballe, Sheila Douglas and Mike Eckersley were delighted with the event, as was parish priest Father Tom Breslin.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event, from near and far,” said Sarah.
“Thanks to the support we achieved a fantastic atmosphere and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening.”
Although not fully decided yet, it is likely the money raised will fund the much-needed exterior painting of St Thomas More, Caistor and essential maintenance at Our Lady and St Joseph Chapel in Osgodby.
