Gala’s a record breaker

GALA – Bardney Gala welcomed a record 2,000 people on Sunday, and also took a record amount of money.

The weather and the atmosphere and entertainment were perfect for a real summer holiday.

The Kakushigie Taiko Drummers wowed the crowds with two sets and then involved all comers in a taster session, while the colourful spectacle of Lincolnshire Dance with their Dance 4 Life set the mood for the day.

But they were not the only costumes on show; the children’s fancy dress was well attended with some fantastic, original costumes.

It was a real gala day, one of the highlights of which was the children’s races, the mum’s sack race and dad’s giant rubber feet race also proving hilarious.

The dog show, as usual, drew the crowds and the final class, the dog the judge would like to take home had one very unusual entrant, Lysette Howe, aged nine, in her dog fancy dress outfit.
