GENEROUS Rasenites have raised about £100 for a charity set up in memory of a toddler who died of a mystery illness.

Market Rasen Social Club organised an Irish music night on March 16 to raise money for J.A.C.K.S (Jack About Carers Kids Support) which aims to set up a Lincolnshire-based retreat for sick children and their carers.

The charity was set up by Verity Proctor after her two-year-old son Jack Huskisson died in January. Football fan Jack had seen 27 specialists from all fields of medicine but no-one could work out what was making him ill.

His mystery condition left him with an enlarged liver and spleen, a hole in the wall that separated the right and left ventricles of his heart, visual problems, development delays, abnormally low muscle tone and no reflexes.

Grandmother Vanessa Proctor, who lives in Market Rasen’s Coronation Road, said: “We would like to thank everyone who attended and everyone at the social club who helped to organise the event.”
