FUNDRAISING aficionado Julie Picksley has said she will continue to support and hold events in aid of Cancer Research UK.

In the past three years Julie, who lives in Caistor, has raised more than £13,000 for the charity, which she fervently supports after her father, Ernie Mumby, died of cancer.

She told the Rasen Mail that although she is not planning to hold another ball at The White Heather in Caenby Corner as she did this year, other fundraising projects are being considered.

Julie said: “The fundraising will not stop.

“It is a charity which means so much to me and I’m doing it all for my dad and to stop other people going through what we had to go through with the disease.”

The recent ball at The White Heather raised £3,500 alone.
