Shoppers in Market Rasen and Caistor have helped the Rotary Club of Market Rasen raise more than £2,000 for good causes over the Christmas period.

Rotarians collected £358.69 at Caistor Co-op and £354.85 at the Market Rasen store which will be split between their International Charity, Shelter Box, and the Flood Relief in Cumbria, through Rotarians centred around Carlisle.

The Rotary Club is also in discussion as to how they can further help the many flood victims.

A collection at Market Rasen’s Tesco store, in aid of St Andrew’s Hospice, raised a further £720.99 and at the Rotary Carol Concert, the Rotary Ladies Group collected £471.63 to help fund the mobile chemotherapy unit and activity for Lincolnshire.

Finally, in lieu of sending Xmas Cards to each other, several Rotarians donated the sum of £230.00 plus Gift Aid to the Nomad Trust in Lincoln, helping homeless people in Lincolnshire.

“We thank everyone for their kindness and caring nature,” said Rtn David Mason.
