Keelby Twinning Association’s new committee for 2014/15 gathered for their first meeting, headed by their new chairperson
Mercedes Mello-Jenkins.

Originally from Brazil, Mercedes has been heavily involved with the Association in recent years, helping organise a number of successful events.

Mercedes and her vice-chairperson Lynn Thompson hope to breathe a new lease of life into the Twinning, getting more families and young people on board and arranging an exciting programme of events for the year ahead.

Upcoming events include a Motown ‘70s evening, games and quiz night, ten pin bowling, and much more.

Next April will also see the Keelby Twinners make their biennial visit to their French twin town of Maisdon-sur-Sèvre.

“We have arranged an exciting, varied array of events for the year ahead which we hope will appeal to members of all ages and interests”, said committee member James Silcocks.

“We’ve brought back some popular family events alongside a few new additions.
