Coun James Truepenny has been elected Brigg Town Mayor for a second time.

He was elected unopposed and his partner Lucy Brumby will be the Mayoress.

“I thank the council for their support,” said the new mayor.

“ I appreciate Brigg a lot, I have been here since 1990.

“I am proud to be elected and my charity for the coming year will be Macmillan Cancer
Support.”

Long serving councillor Ann Eardley was elected as Deputy Mayor and Town Mayor-
elect.

Outgoing Mayor Edward Arnott handed over the chain of office at the Town Council meeting in the Angel Suite.

Before standing down,
Mr Arnott, who had not been elected at the May election, said: “It has been a very busy year.

“Highlights have been the 100th anniversary of the start of World War One, the project done on that by Sir John Nelthorpe School students and the Christmas Market.

“I am proud of what the council has achieved in the past year.”
