Members of the Elsham Wolds Association will gather in the village this weekend for their annual reunion.
They will meet to remember the 1,300 men who flew from the former bomber base, mainly from 103 squadron, and did not return.
Most of the surviving veterans are now in their late 80s and early 90s and their numbers for the reunion event get fewer every year.
This year’s reunion is the last to be organised by Barnetby stalwarts Ajay and Angela Vora.
The AGM, which is also being held during the weekend, will look for a way forward for the association.
On Saturday, August 24, veterans, family and friends will meet informally during the day at Elsham Village Hall and the dinner will follow also in the hall in the evening.
The annual reunion and memorial service takes place this year at 2pm on Sunday, August 25, in Elsham Parish Church, and not as in previous years at the Elsham Water treatment building, where the Elsham Wolds RAF Museum is.
The museum will, however, be open after the service.
