Families invited to young farmers fun day

LINCOLNSHIRE Young Farmers group is hosting a rally and countryside day at Market Rasen Racecourse on Saturday, May 19.

The event, sponsored by Househam Sprayers, will see young farmers from the county’s 16 clubs compete against each other to be crowned rally champions.

Residents can watch young farmers compete in games such as trailer backing, pillow fights and the fiercely contested tug of war.

There will be lots of things to see and do including laser clay shooting, a mini digger challenge, a display of vintage and modern tractors and the chance to have a go at driving a tractor.

Rally chairman Ben Spink said: “This year’s rally will have a countryside feel with the addition of trade stands and activities for the public to do, it’s a fun family day out.”

The event will take place from 10am to 5pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. The event will held ahead of the racecourse’s Countryside Race Day on May 20.
