Keith Tyler, 65, from North Kelsey Moor has raised more than £30,000 for children’s charities after running 33 international marathons and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro twice.

Keith, who carried the flame through Wrawby, said it was a phenomenal event to be part of. He said: “Hundreds of cheering spectators both sides of the carriageway made it an absolutely awesome experience to carry the flame.

“The atmosphere was electric and the cheering deafening. It was a truly awesome experience that I will never forget.

“I wasn’t sure that I would be able to run at all that day as I had injured my hip just three weeks before, but the support from these tremendous crowds just lifted you up the climb.

“What a fantastic community and a truly momentous day.”
