A councillor is urging residents to report any suspicious activity that could be someone fly-tipping after a rise in incidents - including 83 used car tyres being dumped near Caistor, he told a meeting.

Speaking at Caistor Town Council’s monthly meeting in the town hall on December 10, West Lindsey District Council member for the Caistor and Yarborough ward, Owen Bierley, said: “There’s been an increase in fly-tipping, mainly in more remote
areas.

“If you see any suspicious activity, please let us
know.

“We’ve recently had 83 used car tyres not far from
Caistor.”

The council advises anyone who discovers fly-tipped waste to visually inspect it, take note of its exact location and to make sure they do not disturb the site - as there may be evidence that could lead to a prosecution.

To report fly-tipping, call West Lindsey District Council on 01427 676676.
