Concerns for fowl life

THERE are fears people might be upset after reports pike on Brigg’s River Ancholme have been seen to take young moorhens, coots and ducks.

Godfrey Thacker of the Brandy Wharf Marina is concerned about the social and emotional impact when people see the young birds being taken.

Irven Forbes of the Environment Agency says although it may be upsetting, this is part of nature and in time the river will set its own balance.
